Location
East Bowral, NSW

Construction
$1.5 Million

Year
2007

Brief
  • To design an eye catching ‘iconic’ building with a distinctive theme evoking the appearance of a traditional Scottish castle.

  • The building was to contain 4 main portions; a central dining and lounge area, a ‘club room’, a kitchen and services area and a small general store.

  • The building was required to enclose a walled beer garden terrace.

  • Outcome
  • The building is a popular iconic gathering place and caters for all age groups.

  • The Scottish theme is reinforced by the architecture and the building responds well to its suburban setting.

  • The service components of the building are discretely located away from the public domain.

  • The expansive walled terrace is a popular venue for sporting groups to gather socially on weekends.
